The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has concluded a 5-day capacity-building programme for 50 participants on Google Mapping and Geographic Information System (GIS) Technology in Delta State.

The training, which held from August 17 to 21, 2026, was facilitated by Oke-eze Increase Nigeria Limited on behalf of the Board.

According to the organizers, the programme was aimed at equipping beneficiaries with practical skills in digital mapping, geospatial data collection, data visualization, and the application of Google mapping tools for community development, project monitoring, and informed decision-making.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, representatives of Oke-eze Increase Nigeria Limited said the initiative was designed to bridge the existing skills gap in geospatial technology and empower youths with relevant competencies for oil and gas operations, infrastructure planning, and environmental management.

Participants were trained on modules including Google Earth Pro, GPS data capture, GIS software fundamentals, and mapping for development projects.

The beneficiaries commended the NCDMB for the opportunity, stating that the skills acquired would enhance their employability and contribute to local content development in the state.

The programme is part of NCDMB’s sustained efforts to upskill Nigerians in high-demand technical areas across the Niger Delta region.
